Description

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 1/2 cup warm milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter (melted)
  • Powdered sugar (for dusting)
  • Vegetable oil (for frying)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, and a pinch of salt.
  2. In another bowl, whisk warm milk, eggs, and melted butter; mix into dry ingredients until just combined.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth.
  4. Place in an oiled bowl, cover with a towel, and let rise in a warm spot for approximately 1 hour.
  5. Roll out to 1/4 inch thick and cut into squares or rectangles.
  6. Heat vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C) and fry dough pieces until golden brown on both sides.
  7. Drain on paper towels and dust generously with powdered sugar before serving.
